Import Schedule Dialog

Used to import a schedule from an external scheduling application into Bentley Schedule Simulation.

You can access this dialog from the following:

Ribbon: Visualization > Animate > Schedule Simulation > Import Schedule
Animation Producer dialog: File > Schedule > Import

Setting	Description
File Name	Sets the file from which to import the schedule. Click the Browse icon to navigate to the schedule file you want to import.
Options	Delete all the tasks before importing a new schedule — (The default) If selected, all the existing tasks and related script entries in the active animation session are deleted before tasks are imported. Replace existing tasks by new tasks with the same id — Checks if a task with the same unique ID exists in the active animation session. If one is found, it is replaced with the one in the imported schedule. Update all the existing task — If selected, Bentley Schedule Simulation attempts to keep all the existing tasks in the active animation session. If there are conflicts between tasks being imported and tasks in the active animation session, Bentley Schedule Simulation updates the tasks based on the Unique ID and the Animation ID numbers (as displayed in the Animation Producer's Schedule Panel). The Animation ID number is Bentley Schedule Simulation-specific and is used to identify where the task was originally created (Bentley Schedule Simulation or an external scheduling application) and is calculated based on the time a task was originally created. If the Animation ID number of a task is not zero, the task was originally created in Bentley Schedule Simulation. Bentley Schedule Simulation updates tasks only when the Animation ID and Unique ID numbers match. Bentley Schedule Simulation rejects the updating of a schedule if it finds that conflicting Unique IDs exist in the schedule and the animation script. This only occurs if new tasks are created in ConstructSim Planner and the scheduling application separately and they both share the same Unique ID when the schedule in ConstructSim Planner is updated from the external schedule file.

File Name
